As the solo designer and developer, I led the complete transformation of a decade-old styling brand’s digital presence. From strategy to design and implementation, I created a site that reflects the client’s luxury aesthetic and approachable warmth, while making discovery, portfolio browsing, and inquiries effortless.

I managed all design, planning, and build aspects; the client provided key brand insights, stories, photos, and ongoing feedback. Our collaboration centered on regular calls, in-person brainstorms, and clear asset sharing via Notion, Google Drive, and WhatsApp.
Through frequent conversations and design review meetings, we refined the project’s goals:
Representing luxury, accessibility, and emotion. The client shared unique requirements and insights, which I translated into actionable design objectives and scoped the project around her priorities and constraints.
I conducted a survey with 43 respondents to reveal discovery patterns, decision drivers, and pain points in the event planning process. User testing of the new website with 8 participants informed refinements pre-launch. Feedback and findings from these activities were shared with the client in our collaborative review process.
Key findings guided iterative design choices:
68% users discover event planners via Google, Instagram, and Pinterest.
85% value strong portfolios and clear pricing.
These insights were continually reviewed and shaped with the client, anchoring both business needs and user experience.
Our in-person meetings became sessions for brainstorming user flows and site architecture. The client’s insights and stories shaped the emotional messaging throughout. We mapped the happy path to minimize user friction and highlight the client’s values:
homepage → portfolio → services → testimonials → contact
Key Solutions:
Hero: Instantly sets brand tone, clear CTA (“Start Your Story”)
Visual Portfolio: Organized by event type, with high-quality images
Transparent Packages: Service breakdown with clear options
Testimonials throughout for social proof
Design solutions—such as a visually rich homepage, organized portfolio segments, transparent packages, and prominent testimonials—were produced in iterative cycles and refined in partnership with the client. One tough conversation over a proposed new logo taught me the importance of confirming decisions before investing significant time: “If the client is not 100% certain, jump into design only after clear confirmation.” The client ultimately chose to retain her existing logo out of personal attachment.
Due to timeline and resource constraints, I built directly in Wix—rapidly implementing shared ideas and client feedback. Usability tested with 8 participants, optimizing for navigation and content clarity.
The website received 497 site sessions (362 unique visitors), 4m6s avg. duration, and a 44% bounce rate (outperforming 68% of industry peers). Organic search and social traffic ranked in the top decile for wedding/event sites.

This project taught me to clarify client goals before investing deeply in design, navigate uncertainty through proactive communication, and manage solo responsibility while embracing iterative, feedback-driven delivery. Our regular dialogue ensured a launch aligned to both business and user needs, with next goals aimed at driving repeat visits and deeper engagement.
